| Welcome
The Kiwanis Club of Wahpeton, ND and
Breckenridge, MN, twin cities on the North Dakota and Minnesota border,
serves our communities with a variety of different projects for our
youth. A major project, Terrific Kids is held monthly during the school
year to honor outstanding 5th grade students.
Invited to attend the recognition ceremony for the students are their
teachers, their parents and other relatives. Achievements of the
students are told and group and individual pictures are taken with
their certificates. Our
club’s major fundraiser is a pancake feed that draws over 1,000 each
February-March. Helping us are pancake partners, community business,
professional and industrial firms and individuals who support us in
this project. We invite our Terrific Kids to help us during this day.
As a community service organization, we welcome
guests at club meetings and work toward helping youth in our
communities. We are involved in a number of community youth service
activities. We are proud of what we accomplish.
Just a few of the projects we are involved in are:
NDSCS track renovation, track timing equipment, OJ Jenson Track Meet,
NDSCS scholarships, Christmas Kids Projects, Little Guys and Gals
Basketball Tournaments, ECI Youth, Local Gymnastic and Swim Teams,
Girls and Boys State, Kinship and many local youth projects.
