NewsCongratulations Josie Cimbura for
being awarded the Wahpeton-Breckenridge Kiwanis Club's Don Holen
Memorial Award for Service Excellence. She was honored Oct. 19 at the
first presentation of the award. Josie was recognized for her 20 plus
years of selfess service to our community's children. The
recognition during Terrific Kids Day saluted Cimbura for her work with
Terrific Kids, taking pictures of each months' selections and
coordinating Terrific Kids assistance during the club's Pancake Day
each spring. She was club secretary for many years and recently
resigned from the club due to increased work load.

WE HONOR TERRIFIC KIDS EACH MONTH DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR It
is a student recognition program that promotes character development,
self-esteem and perseverance. Students work with their classroom
teacher and establish goals to improve behavior, peer relationships,
attendance or schoowork. Students then work toward achieveing the goal
during a specific time period. Terrific Kids program provides teachers
with a tool to reward students for special achievements that may
otherwise to unnoticed. TERRIFIC is an acroym meaning: Thoughtful Enthusiastic Respectful Responsible Inclusive Friendly Capable.

Our Club is 58 years old. We were chartered on Dec. 7, 1950.
Kiwanis
International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to
changing the world one child and one community at a time.
The
Minnesota-Dakotas District was established in 1918. The three
clubs in the District at that time were St. Paul, Duluth and
Minneapolis. Now over 90 years later, the Minnesota-Dakotas
District remains active with seven regions and 163 clubs.
